Nana came to town on Friday night for her spring break, so we've been in high heaven or here at Casa Vogel. The kids are being spoiled with love and attention that only a grandparent can offer and Tim and I have been spoiled with the luxury of an extra set of adult hands and watching our kids bond with their fabulous Nana. We packed up house and home and headed to the zoo on Saturday. Dude was an inquisitive little man, wanting to read ALL the words on ALL the signs. Super endearing for my almost Kindergartner. Squirt did a double handed wave at EVERY animal she saw...squirrels or anteaters or sparrows. Along with that, she made the same lion sound for every living creature to enjoy. Again, super endearing. We'll update more of Nana's visit soon, but the zoo warranted its very own post.
She was waving at penguins for this particular shot.
For the first time ever, us non-sweet-toothed parents caved and bought our child green cotton candy. His favorite color.
She played by the gorilla cage for a good 10 minutes, despite the fact that there were zero gorillas in said cage. There was a step and glass to pound on and that was all Squirt needed for entertainment. See below for her reaction to this empty exhibit.
