Watch out Kindergarten

This wee one is no longer my pre-school princess.  I was in a surprisingly deep state of Mama sadness over this truth.  In analyzing why that is I discovered that perhaps I'm not ready to send my youngest monkey off to the big school world.  Perhaps I'm not ready for the sensory filled, a-b-c and 1-2-3, Jesus loving experience to come to an end.  Our sweet class of Pre-Kindergartners this year was a blessing.  The parents were wonderful and the kids bonded and meshed with ease and beauty. We hope to maintain these budding relationships over the summer.  We've never experienced this type of classroom environment in preschool, so perhaps that's another reason for the internal Mama tears. Regardless of my need to hold on to this preschool world, our Squirt officially graduation into the big world of Kindergarten last week.

She has made an enormous amount of progress, both socially, spiritually, and academically this year. Our conference with the amazingly creative and patient Miss Ellen was full of praises and compliments.  Thank you Jesus. Really.  Thank you a whole LOT.  We're proud of you little Squirt.

Miss Ellen wore sunglasses in honor of the very bright future ahead of these little people.

Our neighbors, Riley & Owen Man surprised Squirt and watched her graduate.

Despite how often I tell you you're not allowed to go to Kindergarten, I guess I'll allow you the opportunity to continue advancing through the world.

My Animated Story Teller

This girl of mine will spend HOURS per day on her own, teaching and training up her baby dolls in the ways of the world.  She very much mimics her Pre-K teacher and her mother (don't listen too closely) and it can be rather hysterical to listen in.  One morning recently she set up shop in the living room for a very organized and strict story time with a few lucky babies.  I spied from my office and snapped photos and a video.  This one gives us a run - personality is not lacking.

Photographic Depictions of Motherhood

Check out my other blog for this special gift:)  Hope all you Mamas had a restful day yesterday.  I sure did, thanks to my rock star husband.  He's kinda the very best.  I'm not going sappy this year, so I'll leave it at that.
