Some More Summer

Father's Day typically equals a medium easyish hike.  This year we headed to Three Sisters in Evergreen with Enzo in tow.  No one whined, no one cried (wait, Squirt totally cried) and everyone made it back to the car without being carried or bribed.  That's a good hike people. A good hike to honor a better than good dad.  Our cup overfloweth in the Dad department both within our little clan and our own two dads.

Swim team cont.  We enjoyed this experience way more than we thought we would.  Mainly because our children participated without incident and seemed to be into the whole thing.  We did NOT place in any races or go fast by any means, but they both got in the water, swam without stopping or straddling the lane ropes, and touched that wall to complete their race, regardless of how far behind they might have been.  Dude's motivation was candy and Squirt's was to be done.  Whatever works.

No, we did not purchase the $65 swim team suit.  The $20 Amazon suit was the winner.

Our last meet was against one of our besties, Molly (in black).  How cute are these little nuggets?

Here's Squirt's best boy, Owen, ready to swim his very first race.  He rocked it.

Molly's big sis, Caroline.  No one has ever looked this darling in a bright red Speedo swim cap.

Zoom in here with me.  Dude is about to finish this 50M butterfly race.  His two coaches are waiting for him on the right side (one in aqua shorts and orange hat and the other kneeling down in the blue shirt.)  These guys cheered our little man on with GUSTO, regardless of how far behind he was.  In fact, the entire pool cheered him on.  You'll see evidence of their enthusiasm in the shot below.  Melt my Mama heart.

Molly on the right and Squirt on the left.  On your mark.....

Dude was talking to us during this shot, asking if he was in last place and if could have candy.  He beat his previous backstroke time by 8 seconds that day.

We look forward to swim team again next year and we're so grateful for a community experience that was focused on having fun and improving.  At the last meet Dude said to me, "Mom I love swim team because I get to improve in front of ALL of these people."  There you go.
