Grandma Love

Grandma V came for a visit this past weekend.  As always, we had a lovely, lovely time.  The kids EAT up the undivided attention and don't leave Grandma's side while she's in town.  To the point that they sit outside the bathroom and bedroom door and wait for her.  Nothing like losing all privacy when you come to Casa Vogel.

G-ma was lucky enough to join us for our night of "booing" the neighbors which proved to be rather fascinating to her never been booed self.  We found 3 neighbors home.  Success.  Saturday was a picture perfect excuse for a long Fall walk, so we did just that.  Saturday night we bravely ventured where I'm pretty sure no child has gone - happy hour at 730 South.  I'm tickled pink to report that our children sat quietly and sweetly for 1.5 hours while the grown ups took full advantage of the half price margs, beer and salty treats. Well, their quietness was substantially assisted by electronics, but who's counting.  Or judging.

Sunday brought nippy temps, so we bundled up and walked down to our trusty doughnut shop, Starbucks and grocery store.  That was a 2 hour outing by the time it was all said and done.  Grandma loves doing every day stuff with us.  It gives her a good, healthy taste of what life is like for our little mile high fam.

Thanks for coming out and spoiling us Grandma.  We sure do love your visits and can't wait to see you again at Christmas!  Make sure to bring that Grandpa Marc guy next time.

Bearded Monkeys

Couldn't resist.  This won't happen for much longer, given natural 2 year old curiosity and 6 year old growing maturity, so I had to document.  Love this little bearded monkeys.

Glorious

Two weeks ago Tim and I had the luxury of taking a Dude and Squirt free trip to the colorful Colorado mountains.  I had some work to do at the food bank's Palisade warehouse, so I dragged my hubs along for the ride.  And for wine tasting.  And for delectable meals.  And for a glorious hike up to Hanging Lake.  Sounds charming doesn't it?  It absolutely was.  Every second of it.  Here are some shots from our 36 hours trek.  It was short but we sure did pack a whole lotta beauty into it.  Man do I love Fall.

Thanks to the Sheas and April for making this love bird trip possible.  Time away sure does make life that much sweeter.

This hike has been on my Colorado bucket list since we moved here.  For obvious reasons.  There's nothing like it in Colorado.  Bonus that you burn about 10,000 calories on the vertical climb up.

Charming Fall Stroll

We're blessed to live within walking distance of miles upon miles upon miles of bike paths that run along the Platte River and wind from horse country to the mountains.  Tim and Dude go on bike rides through our trails whenever they get the chance.  Dude loves it.  You happen upon horses, fox, deer, valleys, beautiful neighborhoods, stunning mountain views...it's awesome.  We decided to hit the trails and take in some Fall color last weekend.  Dude rode his newly acquired bigger boy bike (thanks Perettis) and we pushed Squirt in her Craig's list BOB.  Because she refuses to walk more than 10 feet.  It was pure loveliness.

Of course it had to end with this shot.

Found a cute little park along the way.  Bonus.
