He Bounced. He Finally Bounced.

You know how kids LOVE bounce houses and all things filled with air that cause you to stumble around like you're intoxicated?  Yeah...I would say 99.9% of kids love these experiences.  Ours falls into that .01% that runs the opposite direction, screaming for his dear life.  Until yesterday.  We went to our friend Emma's 5th b-day party, which turned out to the be the coolest circus carnival this side of the Mississippi.  Props to Stacy and Mike for pulling it off!  They rented a ginormous bounce house.  And I mean, ginormous.

After 4 or 5 attempts at getting his little bootie inside one of these plastic structures throughout his 3 years on earth, he finally decided that indeed, this was the day to break his fear.  The first time he walked up, the large clown scared him clear away.  Understandably so.  Clowns are a freak of nature if you ask me.  After swinging on Emma's swing (his comfort zone) for a good 13 minutes, he decided to conquer the clown and hopped right in.  No coaxing, no tears, no arms flailing, he just climbed in.  We stood with mouth agape.  The kid didn't come out the remainder of the party and was a sweaty mess when we dragged him home.

Our kid bounces.  That's something worth celebrating at our house.  The little things.  Don't they just make life so grand?

It was a super fun party for all. Thanks Stace and Mike!

The beautiful birthday girl.

Dude chose a lighting bolt for his face.  Actually, he chose a flower but Dad helped convince him that a bolt was way cooler.

Mike made everyone snow cones.  Nothin better than a snow cone at a kid's birthday party.

Come on, wouldn't this clown head freak you out too?  I avoided eye contact.
