A Festive Grandma Weekend

Weekends with Grandma V are the best.  Dude gets a TON of much needed one on one, which warms this Mama's heart.  She came, equipped with a science kit, which provided hours of entertainment and focused energy.  Right up Dude's alley.  She has the patience of a saint, which I certainly wasn't blessed with.  Squirt stole Grandma's heart rather quickly and looked smashing in the outfits picked out by her stylin' Gram.  It was a beautiful Fall weekend, so we took in the outdoors, trick or treated at Aspen Grove, carved some impressive (for us) pumpkins, explored the Nature and Science Museum and just hung out at Casa Vogel.  We're always sad to see her go, but LOVE the quality time when she's around.  Thanks for coming out Grandma/Mom!  We appreciate all the spoiling and lovin' you do while you're here.  Miss you already!

There's a series of these shots and I'm in love with all of them.  Look at our toothy smiled girl and how glee filled she is to be in her Grandma's arms.  That's one happy baby.

This was is quite heart warming too.  We'll send copies Grandma:)

Our outdoor mall trick or treating extravaganza...only a few thousand other costumed children joining us.  But we smiled through it and enjoyed ourselves.  As did our dino and elephant.

Pumpkin carving...the only way I can get Dude to touch the orange goo, voluntarily, is to allow him to throw chunks at his plastic car.  And I need to do it with him.  Evidence is above.  His chunks don't end up going straight.

Grandma's cat design turned out fabulous.  Dude gave it a "thumbs up."  Double "thumbs up."
He's really big into the thumbs up these days.

Looking at all these warm, sunny shots makes me dread the 10 inches that have started to fall outside as I type.  My mom is coming Thursday, but I don't think the swing set will be on the agenda.  Sorry Mom.
