Thursday Nights

Our Dude came out of the womb singing.  Literally.  The boy never stops humming, playing instruments, dancing....you get the drift.  Every kid has their passion.  Our son's passion is clearly music.  So, rather than continuing to force soccer down his uninterested throat, we decided to make a major commitment and enroll him in a 3 year local music academy.  It meets every Thursday night with parent involvement.  The verdict?  It's AWESOME.  He is thriving and proving to us that music is a God given talent and gift.  Its been heart warming for me to go back to my musical roots and start playing the piano again, relearn musical logistics and share with my Dude a passion that I've always held dear.  We now hold it dear together.  And I love that.

Miss Kim is a gift.  She has a remarkable way with the 10 kids in our class.  She's kind and loving and firm and fun and runs an amazingly musical ship.  The kids adore their hour with her each week.

Nana was here for our last class before summer, so she got to witness what I'm constantly raving about.  Duder and Nana made some smiley face fruit pizzas for our last class.

There are 5 rooms painted in different themes.  We switch rooms each week so the kids get to experience all of the amazing artwork throughout the year.  It's a happy place....can you tell?

Every 4 to 5 minutes they rotate activities.  Never once has my active son been bored in music school.

Each kiddo get his/her own keyboard during class, enabling them to practice what Mrs. Brown is teaching.  He had his first solo 2 weeks ago.  He did it perfectly, minus signing 3 octaves higher than he needed to.  But, as Mrs. Brown said, "He did it in extremely high perfect pitch!"

We're so grateful that we're blessed enough to send Duder to this fantastic school and look forward to a magical musical future for our little man.
