Lovely Vail and Lovely Nana and Papa Time

Nana and Papa are here ya'll!  That means our kids are receiving some attention overload.  And lovin' every second of it.  As are we.  Tim and I even got away to Vail for an overnight yesterday and came home refreshed and more patient than when we left 24 hours before.  It's amazing what a little time away from your darling children can do for your soul.  And probably for there's too.  Thank you Nana, for the lovely escape.

Tonight we were treated to our favorite, Firebowl.  Can you tell why it's our fave?  Note the large, empty outdoor patio, looking out at the mountains.  Plenty of space for the children to run around and be obnoxious without disturbing fellow diners.  And it's delish to boot.

Hey, it's Tim and me.  When does this photo op ever happen?

We told the kids to act silly.  For once, Dude remained someone average looking and Squirt played it up.  How bout THAT for a role reversal?

Here are some shots from our mini-get-away.  It was the Teva Mountain Games weekend in Vail, which made for tons of entertainment and a fun little addition to our overnight.  We stayed right in the middle of town, which was perfect.  The weather smiled on us until the minute we drove home.  Then it dumped rained and snow for the remainder of the day from what we heard.  Our mountains sure do make the weather unpredictable.

There were tons of outdoorsy sporting competitions, most of which are rather hard core in this wusses opinion.  However, the dog jumping contest was in a league of its own.

These guys just did flips and stuff in the rapids.  And the guy below is walking across said rapid on a tight rope.  There were dozens of these guys taking turns at it.  An old man told me I should be out there doing it and I laughed a little louder than I probably should have, explaining to him my major lack of God given coordination and grace.

More to come from our week with Nana and Papa.
