Charlie the Tree, Santa and Decking the Halls

Dude woke up yesterday saying, "Uncle Kyky go on airplane. To Cago. Mom, I miss uncle Kyky." Needless to say, he gloried in his uncle's presence this past weekend. What else did we do to fill up the time?

For starters, we ditched our cold stricken dude and headed up to the mountains with the Syers and Oma and Opa to cut down our little Charlie Brown tree. It was actually warmer than we thought with only a couple inches of snow, so dude probably would have been fine. Sorry buddy. Next year. We hiked around for an hour, picked out a few possibilities and finally settled with our skinny little tree. Tim dragged it out of the ravine, along with Bruce and Wes and their prize trees and we finished our trip with a tailgate picnic (right next to the love struck couple who decided to camp in the parking lot we chose - who camps in negative temps in November????). They weren't very happy that we parked it in the middle of their love fest. Whatever.

We came home, decorated our pad with Christmas cheer, adorned the outside with twinkling yellow lights, set up our Charlie tree and went downtown Littleton to meet Santa (aka see him from 50 feet away on a moving float). Dude thought it was worth the trip, so that's all the counts. I'm sure Ky was riveted by the entire experience. The next night Tim and I got a much needed dinner out, just the two of us, while Kyle babysat. Heaven. THANKS KY!

It was a fabulous weekend. Great to have family out to enjoy the little man. We can't wait for the next string of company....Nanna and Pappa and then Grandpa V, Grandma Di, Brendan and Steph...all before Christmas. Tis the season!
